I attended college at Florida International University in Miami, FL. While at FIU, I received my bachelors degree in Elementary Education K-6 with ESOL Endorsement. Upon graduating from college, my GPA was 3.46.
Experience
During my schooling I tutored a fifth grader in reading over twenty sessions each an hour long. By the end of the twenty sessions, he had more confidence in his reading ability. My recent tutoring experience includes volunteering in a kindergarten classroom at Safety Harbor Elementary School. I helped students learn letter recognition, letter sounds, and sight word recognition. I would like to be a tutor because I have a passion for teaching children, and through my schooling as well as work experience I have developed skills in motivating students to learn. While at Florida International University, I took classes on how to teach reading, science, music, math, social studies, and art. I can read and write in Spanish.

My favorite part about working with them is building relationships with them and getting to know them. Children are more likely to work with me when I do that.
